[in short] If you are creating an open source card or boardgame and own the copyrights to it’s assets, then you might be interested in joining our community. Together we matter.

what you get

  • Becoming a vital part of the free culture and open source movement, as a united force that is changing the card- and boardgame world. This is the main thing. You contributing to the cause by networking, via this initiative, with others.
  • Exposure on our site.
  • Possibility to get other developers input.
  • A chance to do social networking with devs & players.
  • Access to our forums and wiki and dev. status on it.
  • Depending on your game and needs, there may sometimes be possibilities to get help from others.

project criteria

The following criterias must be met in their entirety by a card- or boardgame project for it to become a member of the WTactics collaboration structure. Your project:

  1. Facilitates a systematic approach for recreational interactivity with specific goals for at least one individual.
  2. Has an official and reachable project lead that is the full licenseholder or a representative appointed to speak on the licenseholder’s behalf in all matters regarding to the project.
  3. Is using at least one or more of the following licenses for all of it’s assets that are required to use the project as it is intended by design, or to develop, revise or fork the project further without having to recreate assets: GPL2, GPL3, CC BY, CC BY-SA, CC BY-NC, CC BY-NC-SA
  4. Offers it’s a) fullworthy experience gratis to the public in it’s entirety as DIY, while the licenseholder also b) maintains the right to sell the game and/or non-essential products or services associated with the project.
  5. Can easily be materialized as do-it-yourself (DIY) by the general public target group in a physical form either by the group itself or by accessible means to the target group.
  6. Is intended to be used in a physical environments, “in real life”, to which that group already has access to.

membership

  1. Every project has all of it’s legal rights associated with it retained and is an autonomous self-contained entity. WTactics does not claim any rights, licenses, ownership or influence over a project, it’s development, economy, staff, brand or assets.
  2. Memberships is free and doesn’t require anything from a project beyond what’s mentioned in the criteria for membership and the code of conduct.
  3. Any project that fulfills the criteria may apply to become a part of the WTactics open card- and boardgame initiative.
  4. A member project may leave the WTactics open card- and boardgame initiative at any time.
  5. Member projects that do not meet all of the criteria any longer, act counter productive to the open source and free culture movement or don’t follow our code of conduct will be excluded from WTactics without notice.
  6. Projects that have left or been excluded will have their info. about them removed from the site. Old forum posts, wiki entries or other data may or may not be removed. Authors are free to remove their own contributions at any time.
