How to play wtactics by octgn?
Hi rysiu & welcome to the community!
OCTGN is deprecated and is replaced by OCTGN2. We will release a patch for OCTGN2 and make WTactics playable on it, but currently we lack developers that are interested in doing that work (most of us use Linux machines, not Windows, where OCTGN2 runs).
Should you know somebody that wants that position and wants to become part of our team or want to do it yourself we’d be very happy to have you/them aboard – just tell us: Making our game playable in OCTGN2 should be very easy to do, and I’m confident you could pull it off.
Hey,
this is Aaron im a all-round artist and also like to design games as a hobby. Ive been wanting to make a TCG Online eventually and I wanted to know more about your site or company you are running here. As far as I understand its a open game where you want people to contribute in. I also dont understand 100% what exactly is it that the site wants to accomplish.
Please let me know!
Hi Aaron!
I’ll try to answer your questions in a direct way:
1. We are not a company: We work for free, because we want to develop a free game that anyone can play and obtain for free, and also modify however they want to. That sums up the whole project, and the site.
2. You’re right that we want people to contribute: If nobody works, nothing gets done.
At the same time we don’t tell people exactly how they should/could contribute, since they would know best themselves. One could for example join our development team or one could start a team on his/her own. We’d still be housed beneath the same roof, and share art resources, website etc.
3. With the site we want to accomplish the following:
a) Inform the public that there is an effort being made in developing a truly free & libre customizable card game (CCG).
b) Ask the public for help, in whatever ways it can and will be accepted by us. Invite people to join our project.
c) Have a platform that makes co-work between us that develop possible.
I hope this answers your quesions. Please read the FAQ and also the General Design Document ( http://WTactics.org/go/gdd ) if you are interested in the details – I’m sure they are there.
Also feel free to mail me if you have any thoughts or questions.
